Babel,

catching fire, fans the flames,

fury, keening, tears it down,

stone by stone,

the exile alone,

shelters the capstone,

you, mired in misery,

spill out, the full breadth

of your soul,

you, constrained,

cleave yourself free,

you, cloven,

stand, stagger

and fall

the capstone, enduring

bears witness
