Black ink and sunbeams poetry

Exile, before exile,

kindness your treasure,

rejected before the sacrificial stones,

left you with nothing,

sorrow, reticent,

swallows those things you build up

from yesterday,

your life, worthless to you,

finds a home upon your page,

Exile, far from home,

in your becoming,

collect another curse,

joy, a stranger, passes by,

your life, ephemeral

another curse, another poem,

an incomplete record

to the end of days
