Castaway,

wayward,

drifting upon an ossuary

of Sumerian memory,

forgotten,

beneath the willow,

beneath the glass

you, calcified,

preferring solitude to certainty

left the others to their rafts,

an attenuation of misfortune

sinking alongside the captain and

his ship, saw itself,

reflected in the deep

the profundity of silence,

a smile, painted over,

your life, counted in losses,

reimagined,

in the sable light,

overflows
